Beginning...

You’re on your way to me! I received a message this morning that you’d arrive tonight, just before midnight. My heart has been fluttering all day with the thought of it, of you, my sweet girl. There are so many things I want to tell you, to show you. I want to listen to your stories late into the night. I want to watch the sun rise. I want to show you my world, and begin to learn yours. Most of all, I want to touch you, to be touched by you, to express all those things words alone cannot. I want to fall asleep beside you, and wake to your smile. I want to make love to you, soft and intimate. I want…you. 

Funny, though, one of the things I’m looking forward to the most is sharing the simple, day to day activities of life. Eating together, caring for ourselves and one another, the quiet, intentional moments that weave together to create the vast tapestry of a shared life, our life. It begins today, the new chapter in our story, and I cannot wait.
