Crossing cultures...

On our date last night, we talked about cultural differences, after you asked what it's been like dating a Swedish woman after only having dated Americans. I told you some of the little quirks I'd needed to learn (gladly) over time to understand certain ways you approach things, being a Swede, but that there had never been anything terribly difficult. In the end, at our cores, we're compatible in all the places that matter, so it's been more of a fun adventure than anything else learning the ins and outs. Isn't that nice, hehe?

I think the part of the conversation I enjoyed the most was the end, when we naturally veered, without really trying, into talking about how our respective backgrounds are making each of us better people through sharing them. We seem to be growing there, as we so often do, just by being together, which is vital to the long term survival of a relationship, I think. It's one of the reasons we'll go the distance, if we can keep it up, and I truly believe we can, because we both lead with curiosity and compassion. Thank you for being my best girl, baby. I love you, with Swedish certainty and American hyperbole.
