Let me tell you about this girl...

I should probably provide some background here for anyone who may find these letters other than the intended. I can’t go into the details, for reasons which, well…I can’t go into, but there’s this girl. Let me tell you about this girl…

I should start by telling you that she’s beautiful. And I don’t mean pretty, though, God, she is certainly that. I mean deep down in the heart and soul beautiful, in the way that transcends the physical. She is kindness and grace, brilliant and clever, with just a hint of mischief around the corners of her smile, and a profound sense of wonder for those who are fortunate enough to see it. And her eyes…

When she looks at me with those eyes, I see a man reflected in them that I want to be, and an acceptance of the man I am that I have never experienced. She sees me true, as I see her, and loves all she sees, just as she is loved, every part of her, by my own heart.

When she cries in sadness, my heart weeps and aches to ease her pain. When the tears come from a place of overwhelming love and joy, my heart soars. And when she laughs…I would do most anything for that laugh, hesitant, at first, as it slowly bubbles up, then full and perfect.

She is possessed of a wild spirit, one that drives her. When she wants something, she will give it her all, and when what she wants is you, there is no room to doubt that love, that devotion, that passion. You feel like you can do anything, as long as she’s beside you. Whens he has the room to grow, she will, and she will, if you let her, take you along by the hand, to grow with her. And it is magnificent to see her light up that way.

I could go on forever, and it would never do justice to the unique, achingly beautiful soul that found me as I found her, lost and searching. When last we parted, she asked me if I would still be here when she came back to me. I told her, of course, that I would always be, that I would hold her, ease her pain, and face the hardships and joys of forever with her, because that’s the kind of man I am, with a girl like her.
