The whole of you...

Some days, the distance is easier to carry, when the sun is bright, and I can hear you in every song, see you in the vibrant shades of the flowers. On those days, the longing is wistful, a heart saddened by the missing of something sweet and lovely. On other days, though…

Some days, I can feel your heart crying for me, feel your sadness, fear, and need, and I can do little else but want to be able to pull you safely into my arms and hold you fast against the world, to be your peace and calm as the storms rage outside and within you.

On both sorts of days, the heart of it all is love, of course, merely different sides to the infinite, beautiful prism that is my love for you. I want to be the man you turn to when the world is falling down, and the one to whom you can't wait to get home to share all the exciting, tiny things that made you glow during your day. I want to support you, and share your world, to build a life where you want to live the rest of your days beside me.

I want…you, every part of you, on the joyful days, and on those that leave us clinging to one another for comfort. I have no wish to shape you into what I believe you should be, but rather to build a safe, secure space with you where you can grow into what you want to be, and we can both learn that amazing woman together, and love her fiercely.

I want you, as you are, as you were, without shame nor judgment, and as you will be, as you become the beautiful girl you've always wanted to be, once given the room to fly, and the love to nurture and keep you safe. I love you, my sweet girl, and I'll be right here, now and always.
